
University Park, Illinois – Actuation technology company Bimba has acquired Intek Products of Warrendale, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1999, Intek develops mechanical automation products and solutions for both single axis and multi-axis coordinated electric motion. Intek’s products are extensively used for linear positioning, robotic applications, pick & place mechanisms, and gantry systems.
“This acquisition will significantly enhance Bimba’s electric actuator offering and extend our commitment to offer our customers a choice of complete pneumatic, hydraulic and electric motion options,” says Pat Ormsby, president of Bimba.
Including its brands, TRD, Mead, MFD, Pheumadyne, and Acro, Bimba Manufacturing markets an extensive line of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric actuators; valves; fittings; air preparation; and safety and production solutions. In addition to its broad line of standard catalog products, the company’s business develops many custom and semi-custom products designed for specific customers and applications. These products, used in machinery and automation, are sold to original equipment manufacturers and end-users throughout the world.
