Sudbury, Massachusetts – Methods Machine Tools Inc. officials have named Benjamin Fisk to the position of general manager, 3D Additive Manufacturing. Fisk will be heading up Methods 3D, a group comprised of sales, application, and engineering staff, to install, manage, and maintain 3D Systems’ printing equipment, labs, and showrooms in Methods Technology Centers across the United States. With more than 15 years of experience in engineering and additive manufacturing, Methods is proud to welcome Fisk in his new role managing Methods 3D.

“Benjamin is an excellent choice to lead our new 3D business,” says Bryon Deysher, president & CEO, of Methods Machine Tools Inc. “His extensive experience in both additive manufacturing and precision metalworking will allow us to establish a strong foothold in the 3D printing market and give our customers access to the very latest manufacturing technology for today’s demanding applications.”

Prior to joining Methods, Fisk worked for Pratt and Whitney in East Hartford, Connecticut. He started there in 1998 as a design engineer for Systems Engineering and in 2001 he was promoted to integrated product lead for turbine airfoil applications where he developed comprehensive design and development schedules for F135 military engines. In 2011, Fisk took on the role of technology manager of additive manufacturing, where he led the development and implementation of new additive manufacturing technologies and processes across the company. Since 2013, he served as deputy component integrated product lead at Pratt & Whitney, leading the development and certification of low-pressure compressor gas turbine components.

On October 20, 2015, Methods officials announced the company had entered into a partner agreement with 3D Systems, a provider of the most advanced and comprehensive 3D digital design and fabrication solutions available today, including 3D printers, print materials, and cloud-sourced custom parts. The partnership allows Methods to enhance its portfolio of leading-edge precision machine tools and solutions for traditional manufacturing with advanced 3D printing solutions for additive manufacturing.

In addition to the appointment of Fisk, Robert Nakash has been promoted to the position of general manager, heading up Methods’ operations in Phoenix, Arizona.

Since 2007, Nakash has held the position of sales engineer at Methods’ Phoenix, Arizona, branch. Prior to that, he was at Mori Seiki USA Inc. in New Jersey for 17 years in various positions including regional manager, application/service manager, and application engineer. He began his career with a number of positions in CNC Programming at various tool and die/mold machine shops. Nakash has also received CMTSE certification from AMTA and is a graduate of Middlesex County College in Edison, New Jersey.

“With over 34 years of engineering and management experience in manufacturing and machine tools and eight years at Methods, Bob is a seasoned professional with a wealth of knowledge of Methods and machining,” Deysher says. “His promotion to general manager of our Phoenix operations is well-deserved and his expertise will help us grow our sales, service and application support in this region.”
