Methods Machine Tools Inc. will host an open house June 11-12, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the company’s headquarters in Sudbury, Mass.

Metal Storm 2014 will feature more than 50 machines under power from companies such as Yasda (including 5-axis machining center plus two 3-axis CNC vertical jig borers) Kiwa (featuring several horizontal machining centers), Nakamura (including a multitasking turning center), and Feeler (marking the North American debut of a 4-axis turning center). Fanuc will hold numerous demonstrations of its RoboDrills, RoboCut EDM machines, and pre-engineered automation solutions. Carl Zeiss will showcase its metrology solutions, including VisionGauge products. 

The open house will also hold technical seminars presented by industry experts from different industries, including automation. The list of seminars can be found below.

“Metal storm offers manufacturers an opportunity to discuss their applications and see the latest machine tool and automation technology in a more causal environment than a traditional tradeshow,” said Byron Deysher, president and CEO of Methods. 

Metal Storm is expected to attract more than 1,500 people from nearly 450 companies.

Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) in the Manufacturing World Today will be presented by Mark Foster, president of AFI, offering over 30 years of teaching, coaching, and mentoring experience in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing as well as Zeiss Metrology solutions.
