A new effective perioperative, antiemetic medical device has been developed by Pressure Point Inc., a global medical device company, and Laminin Medical Products, an FDA registered establishment.
Pressure Right, which Laminin will produce according to a manufacturing agreement between the two companies, is an FDA-cleared disposable, antiemetic innovation device, using advanced acupressure technology to enhance the management of nausea/and or vomiting following surgery.
According to anesthesia experts, there is a high incidence of postdischarge nausea and vomiting (PDNV) after outpatients are released from ambulatory care centers. Pressure Right is clinically proven for long-acting prophylactic antiemetic effectiveness (up to 72 hours) after patient emergence from anesthesia. Pressure Right has proven to help patients overcome the onset of nausea/and or vomiting attributable to motion sickness during the car ride home after ambulatory surgery, as well as, during the postoperative recovery period at home.
Joseph DiLustro, CEO & chairman, Pressure Point, says the association with Laminin will help his company feel secure about the quality of the Pressure Right.
"We expect to grow our business both domestically and internationally with the support of the Laminin team,” DiLustro says. “We are looking forward to working with the Laminin team in the future on other disposable acupressure-based applications for clinical testing."
