Sandvik Coromant's QS toolholding system is designed and built for Citizen machines. Each system kit includes a stop, two spring-loaded wedges, and a short toolholder with shank sizes ranging from 8 × 8 mm to 16 × 16 mm. According to Sandvik Coromant, the system can significantly reduce downtime and improve productivity because of its unique design. With this quick-change solution, insert indexing times are reduced by two minutes, and diameters can be machined multiple times without having to change the machine's settings. A single screw controls the clamping and unclamping capabilities. In addition, a spring-loaded wedge secures the short holder in place and eliminates cumbersome handling. The QS system's insert edge position is automatically set up by contact between the short holder and the stop and does not require adjustment. The new QS toolholding system will be available with the upcoming CoroPak 2006.2
