For the past 25 years, Mazak Corp. has supported the Northeast with a Regional Sales and Technical Center in South Windsor, CT. The company now has opened its new Northeast Headquarters at Windsor Locks, some 10 minutes for the Harford Bradley International Airport. The new 19,000 square foot facility is 90% larger than the older building that was erected in 1981. In the new facility, area manufacturers will find a wide range of engineering and service functions including process development and technology demonstrations; turnkey system integration tailored to individual company production needs; technical seminars; access to related expertise such as CAD/CAM, automation, and tooling strategies; factory-trained service employees (20 service engineers) dedicated to the region; and a person dedicated to technical/service phone support 24/7. "The idea is to partner with customers, suppliers and educational institutions to create unique manufacturing solutions," says Brian Papke, Mazak's president. "We will make the investment to be the leading innovator of machine tools and to build facilities like this Technology Center to help our customers and train them in using the latest technology available."
