The newly structured company that results from the acquisition of The Precise Corp. by Fischer AG Präzisionsspindeln will be able to offer considerably expanded capabilities in serving the medical/ optical market, among many others. Too, the company expects to advance its product development capabilities for existing and new markets.
Customers will be able to choose from the full range of combined Fischer and Precise products, with spindle speed to 200,000 rpm, power output to 100 kW and a choice of ball bearing, air bearing or hydrostatic bearing.
Fischer will continue to operate Precise manufacturing facilities in Racine, Wisc. and in Leichlingen, Germany, as well as other manufacturing plants in Germany and Switzerland.
Fischer's CEO, Dr. Christoph Rennhard, notes, "The Fischer and Precise product lines are very complementary and will form the basis of a broad program of products and services for presentation to customers. Based on this greatly expanded capability, we intend to pursue aggressively a wide range of sales opportunities in the machine tool industry and also in new markets where core skills in design and manufacture of high speed rotating devices can be applied."
