Pittman Series 14000 brush-commutated DC servo motors incorporate 11-slot skewed armatures to minimize magnetic cogging (or reluctance torque) and promote smooth and quiet operation. Series 14000 suits a wide range of power applications for computer peripherals, medical and imaging equipment, automation systems, among others.
Other standard features contributing to optimized performance and reliability include two-pole stators, sintered bronze bearings, ceramic magnets, copper graphite brushes, silicon steel laminations, diamond-turned commutators and heavy-gauge steel housing.
These motors are available in seven lengths and can achieve peak torques up to 420oz/in and maximum continuous torque rating up to 50oz/in at speeds up to 3,930rpm, depending on model. Speed, voltage, current and torque characteristics can be varied to meet application demands.
Their modular construction enables easy customization with planetary or spur gearboxes, optical encoders, alternate brush materials, brakes, cables, connectors, modified shafts and RFI suppression or special configurations.
