A new line of Precision ER Collet Chucks with runout guaranteed to be less than 0.0001-in. TIR between the O.D. taper and I.D. socket is being introduced by Royal Products.
When used in conjunction with Royal Ultra- Precision ER Collets, overall system accuracy is guaranteed to be 0.0003-in. TIR or better. According to the company, this high accuracy helps ensure an evenly distributed chip load and results in a significant increase in cutting tool life.
All Royal ER Collet Chucks incorporate a tapered shank, ground to AT-3 specifications for a precise fit with the machine tool spindle taper, and a specially ground clamping nut to ensure near-perfect roundness. In addition, each ER Collet Chuck is dynamically balanced to G2.5 at 18,000 rpm and includes a serialized balance certificate. A central thru-coolant feature is standard on all models.
