The KIWA-Japan KH-41 horizontal machining center has a simple, compact, efficient design that is only 60.2" (1,530mm) wide.
Despite its small size, it can handle a wide variety of workpieces, providing an ideal entry-level factory automation solution. The KH-41 has a full rotary B-axis and can be installed in the same space as a vertical machine.
With a 400mm pallet machine, The KH-41 can accommodate a wide variety of workpieces, including large workpieces up to 21.7" x 33.5". The ATC technology, with drum-style design, provides speed, accuracy, rigidity and reduced cycle time. The 1G+ acceleration is standard on all axes.
Also available is the multitasking turning center from Nakamura-Tome which offers 100% stock-on turning and machining. The Super NTY3 has three turrets, each with a Y axis - all in a relatively small footprint (109.45" x 77.6"). The Super NTY3 offers multipoint machining with process integration, combining turning and milling capabilities in one machine. Three 6,000rpm milling motors can simultaneously machine two flat surfaces (top and bottom) on one spindle and one surface on the other. Extremely rigid, each turret holds 12 driven or 24 stationary tools, for a maximum of 72 tool stations. Up to 29hp/20hp is available for shaft/work turning with synchronized spindles (14.5hp/10hp per spindle). The Super NTY3 has a maximum turning diameter of 6.89" (175 mm), a maximum turning length of 23.5" (588mm), and bar capacity of 1.65" (42mm).
