Xact Metal, Materialise extend partnership
Expanding access to metal 3D printing for small-to-medium size companies and decentralized additive manufacturing (AM), Xact Metal is continuing its partnership with Materialise and its Magics 3D Print Suite.
Materialise Magics Print Suite simplifies data and build preparation with a solution including CAD and mesh tools, automatic support generation, build preparation, and tool path generation. Materialise has announced the new version of Magics, its leading data and build preparation software. New features include Workflow Automation, a tool offering custom scripts to automate repetitive workflows during data and build preparation. Magics is now also integrated with CO-AM, the company’s cloud-based software platform, adding traceability to the 3D printing process.

Voxel receives seed financing for AM with AI design platform
Voxel closed $1.7 million in seed financing and will open a new headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio. Voxel’s additive manufacturing (AM) design platform uses a multi-physics artificial intelligence (AI) model to rapidly generate designs for high-performance applications. The company’s approach eliminates guesswork, provides designs with significantly less engineering time and iterations, and ensures manufacturability as well as component performance. Voxel’s seed financing was led by CincyTech, a Cincinnati, Ohio-based venture firm focused on seeding and scaling a new generation of transformational Midwest companies.
According to Aaron Chow, Voxel CEO and co-founder, “We believe that by fusing AI and additive manufacturing, we can provide a step change in how companies approach design and engineering problems. We aim to unlock manufacturing solutions previously undiscovered.”
