Doosan Infracore, builder of horizontal and vertical machining centers, horizontal boring centers, and turning centers, announces plans to open a medical/surgical tech service center in Airport Business Park, Memphis, TN.
The facility will work with current Doosan customers and prospective customers to develop more efficient ways for producing medical instrumentation and prosthetics, including artificial knees, hips, shoulders, and elbows.
Although located in the South-Central part of the country, technical service will be available to any company from any part of the United States that needs to develop or improve production procedures for smaller parts and/or medium-sized parts.
Doosan's applications engineers at the center will advise persons on all aspects of machining, including the most appropriate machine tools for the job, as well as optimal workholding and toolholding systems, tool grades and geometries, preferred speeds and feeds, and other operating conditions that combine to maximize economy and productivity.
A representative selection of Doosan machine tools will be housed at the tech center, allowing continuous, testing and hands-on training for machine shop management and employees.
The Medical/Surgical Center joins Doosan's Oil/Petroleum/Energy Tech Center in Houston, TX; the Automotive Tech Center in Detroit, MI; and a soon-to-open Aerospace Tech Center in Orange County, CA.
This enables the company to provide advanced procedures to key sectors of the metalworking industry.
