The EDM 101 quickly and easily removes broken tools and taps from parts otherwise unusable. It uses rapid, microsecond pulses to remove tiny fragments, leaving a burr-free finish. The user-friendly system is suitable for entry-level electrical discharge applications and compatible with low-volume part production.
The solution includes an electrical discharge machining (EDM) head, power control unit (PCU), flush and filter system, and a tablet with an easy-to-use touchscreen app. The EDM head can be easily mounted on any Bridgeport-style knee mill or used as a standalone, portable solution.
The flush and filter system includes an easily maneuverable cart with a 20-gallon tank; two pumps offering low-pressure side and adjustable core flush pressure up to 100psi; and a two-stage economical filter system. The Android-based user interface features full parameter control to create, edit, save, and retrieve jobs; real-time EDM progress with auto-stop for depth control; and four operational modes: Setup, Job, Run, and Info for feedback.

The EDM 101 was designed to meet industry needs for cost-effective EDM ram-style sinker capability, combining the simplicity of manual tap burners with the advanced capabilities of automated sinker EDM machines. It saves time and money by handling routine tasks, allowing main EDM setups to focus on high-value projects. The system’s flexibility and ease of use make it well-suited for a variety of environments including machine shops, manufacturing facilities, technical schools, and engineering labs.
The versatile solution can also machine shapes into components such as bolt or specialty fasteners. It uses common electrodes such as graphite to make hex or custom shapes in any conductive metal.
The EDM 101 delivers precise, repeatable results, improving efficiency and consistency, and allows users to save time, reduce scrap, and deliver parts on time and on budget.
