The C4T live center features a proprietary bearing isolator seal designed exclusively for Riten by Inpro/Seal. Exhaustive testing indicates that the C4T will have at least three times the service life of standard centers, and that the noncontacting frictionless seal will never wear out under normal use. Normal use includes demanding service with highhorsepower lathes and grinders, and applications involving extreme coolant pressures – in all applications the C4T has a guaranteed accuracy of ±0.00005" tir. The bearing isolator seal is a compound mechanical labyrinth with dual flow paths: the inner section retains and recirculates the bearing lubricant, while the outer path captures outside contamination and expels it through a port.
