Gibbs and Associates' GibbsCAM Machine Simulation option features integral Cut Part Rendering, which supports material removal simulation and verification. GibbsCAM's Machine Simulation capability supports accurate simulation and validation of a CNC program's machine tool motion, including 5-axis simultaneous milling machines. The version of GibbsCAM Machine Simulation being introduced at IMTS adds support for turning, mill/turn and multi-task machine tools. Machine tool models can be built and set up like the real machine tool, then the CNC program is simulated to validate it prior to running the CNC program on the actual machine tool. Not only does this allow potential programming errors to be visually identified before they become expensive mistakes out on the shop floor, but program inefficiencies can also be recognized and addressed.
