
Modular measurement system
The IM-X1000 Series is the latest generation of the Instant Measurement System lineup. The modular system features a new ultra-wide large stage, multisensor measurement capabilities, and a function to automate challenging and time-consuming part programming. The IM-X1000 allows up to 20 different stage and camera combinations for applications ranging from general purpose optical comparator applications to multisensor measurement, combining optical, probe, laser, and rotational measurement to deliver comprehensive inspection.
The IM-X1000 Series offers an increased measurement range up to 16" x 20", more than 3x that of previous generations. Programming has also been enhanced for greater efficiency. Users can import CAD, PDF, JPEG, and even paper drawings, then select critical dimensions, design values, and tolerances to create a program. An artificial intelligence (AI) tool called Smart Assist auto-adjusts focus, light, and edge extraction settings. Even without prior optical metrology experience, users can measure up to 5,000 dimensions in as little as one second, streamlining quality control processes.

Silicone adhesive
MasterSil 800Med is a one-component, moisture curing silicone specifically designed for medical device manufacturing. The non-corrosive material passes ISO 10993-5 testing for non-cytotoxicity. Its excellent flow properties make it well-suited for medical electronics, as well as general bonding, sealing, coating, and form-in-place gasketing. This compound is black in color and offers ultra-high resistance to dry heat and sterilization methods.
The silicone cures quickly upon exposure to atmospheric moisture or humidity. Curing speed is directly influenced by the humidity level and layer thickness; thinner sections cure more quickly than thicker ones. A tack-free time can be achieved in as little as 15 to 20 minutes at 75°F and over 50% humidity. The flexible material exhibits an elongation between 250% and 350% and a Shore A hardness of 25 to 45. It withstands thermal cycling, vibration, and shock, and is serviceable up to 300°C with no significant loss in tensile strength or elongation even after extended exposure. MasterSil 800Med is electrically insulative, featuring a volume resistivity greater than 1013 ohm-cm at room temperature. It bonds effectively to various substrates, including metals, silicon, glass, ceramics, many plastics, and silicone rubber.
