Marposs Corp. introduces its NanoUnimar ultra-compact gauge head for in-process grinder control. The new NanoUnimar gauge is designed to suit the trend for smaller grinding machines. Its sub-micron accuracy and stability are, with its compact size, the main features in providing a gauge solution when space is restricted and micro components such as fuel injectors, microbearings and other miniature parts are being ground.
The NanoUnimar gauge is designed for measuring external and internal diameters, positioning and length for both smooth and interrupted surfaces. The NanoUnimar gauge has a measurement range of –100/+300mm (-0.004/+0.012 in.) for in-process measurement applications without mechanical refitting. The gauge has repeatability of 0.1mm (0.000004 in.). Because two gauge heads, each with a separate measuring finger, are applied for measuring a diameter, the NanoUnimar gauge can be adapted for measuring parts ranging from less than 1mm to approximately 6mm (0.04 in. to 0.2 in.) diameter. The NanoUnimar gauge is also for use with larger parts where numerous measurements must be packed into a confined area.
Mechanical adjustments to the NanoUnimar gauge are easily accessed externally from above the gauge. The NanoUnimar gauge features IP67 protection against coolant and abrasive substances.
