Mori Seiki U.S.A. has earned membership into AMT - The Association for Manufacturing Technology (AMT). Founded in 1902, AMT represents and promotes the interests of American providers of manufacturing machinery and equipment, with one of its many goals being to promote technological advancements and improvements in the design, manufacture and sale of members' products in those markets.
AMT's eligibility requirements include the domestic production of at least one product line of power driven manufacturing machinery. Mori Seiki's Machining Technology Group (MTL) is the developer of the company's qualifying product line. MTL was founded in mid-2006 and is located in Mori Seiki's Chicago Technical Center and North American Headquarters. MTL enables Mori Seiki to partner with their users in order to systematically explore new concepts made possible by advances in machine tool design. As Greg Hyatt, the Vice President at the helm of MTL, says, "Partnering creates the opportunity to find broader innovations than each company could on its own. We can leverage each partner's experience and insights in ways not likely to happen otherwise."
Among the innovative new solutions developed by MTL and their partners are the spinning tool, hydrogage, adaptive balancer, zerochip, grind hardener and grill tool.
