With a grand opening celebration, Methods Machine Tools, Inc. (www.methodsmachine.com) opened its most recent regional technology center, this one at Wixom, Mich. As with its other Tech Centers - there are six in all - the Wixom facility offers sales, parts, service and training. Headquartered in Sudbury, Mass., Methods has a national network of full-service machine tool dealers for comprehensive sales, support and service.
"Many U.S. companies have become disenchanted with the poor quality and long turnaround times associated with offshore manufacturing, and more and more of them are moving their manufacturing back to the U.S.," says Bryon Deysher, Methods president. "To keep costs down they'll have to find ways to produce parts faster and with less labor. Methods can help with both machines and automation."
Among Methods partners are Matsuura Corp. for machining centers, Nakamura-Tome for turning centers, Fanuc for drilling and wire EDM and Exeron Co. for die sinker EDM.
