Big Kaiser Precision Tooling is introducing the newest addition to its high-performance Sphinx Quadro 15 PLUS drill line. With its specially-designed point geometry, Quadro 15 PLUS is ideal for cutting steel, cast iron, and other non-ferrous materials.
The engineering behind the Quadro 15 PLUS makes it ultra-rigid, requiring less cutting force and increasing feeds and speeds. Quadro 15 PLUS drills up to 50% faster and holds close tolerances, achieving a hole quality of H7 or better.
According to Big Kaiser, the new drill line maximizes productivity by eliminating the need for subsequent finish operations, delivering a quality finish of Ra 0.8 µ. Balzer's Futura Nano Top TiAIN Coating optimizes chip evacuation, increases wear resistance, and results in longer tool life.
These carbide drills are made from ultra-fine grain carbide and available in diameters from 0.157 to 0.787-in. in standard length of 6X diameter with through coolant. Based on the Quadro PLUS drill geometry of Sphinx, the new 15° helix angle makes them suitable for drilling long chipping materials like steel and cast iron.
