Combining unique designs with advanced materials technology has led Sono-Tek Corp. to file a patent application for its new inventions. Results of initial prototyping have proved the feasibility of the new nozzle technology.
With the invention, smaller diameter drops than before can be generated. These drops may be as low as 5 to 10 microns. Applications include medical device coatings, nano-particale technology, medical aerosols, spray drying and optical coatings.
Too, the new invention permits the company's nozzle systems to handle much higher flow rates than are presently possible. The designs will impact the Wide Track product line, used for coating applications involving glass, textiles and other materials requiring high rates of deposition.
