PARAGON MEDICAL'S CASE AND TRAY DIVISION receieved the first ever Supplier Certification Award from DePuy Orthopaedics, Warsaw. The award, which was presented during a special recognition luncheon for the entire operations staff, recognizes suppliers for demonstrating exemplary quality systems and manufacturing practices, such that certain products can be placed on a "Ship-to-Stock" status. This status allows products to go directly from Paragon into the DePuy distribution system, bypassing receiving inspection.
Several members from DePuy Management were on hand to congratulate Paragon for reaching this major milestone. Pamela Orcutt, Supplier Quality Engineer, presented the award on behalf of the DePuy Orthopaedics Supplier Quality and Purchasing organizations. In her address to Paragon's employees, she said, "Paragon can be proud of this accomplishment, which not only demonstrates excellence in case and tray manufacturing, but also for being the recipients of the first such award granted under this program." Orcutt specifically noted that Paragon was able to have input into the development of the program requirements, allowing them to gain the benefit of a fine-tooth assessment of their case and tray manufacturing procedures and practices, facilitating enhancement and improvement of what was already a well-documented and compliant system. Paragon was presented with an inscribed glass memento to display in their lobby as a reminder of their accomplishment.
