Intelligent metrology software

MODUS IM Equator software is built on the MODUS IM platform to maximize productivity for users of the Equator and Equator-X gauging system. It’s designed to simplify the creation of inspection programs and characteristics-based metrology reporting without requiring in-depth knowledge of metrology or inspection programming.

The user-friendly CAD interface allows users to easily assign measurement features without code. The software automatically ensures all machine movements are collision-free, and all settings follow metrology best practices, enabling users to quickly address new part requirements and ensure high uptime for production lines.

The software includes Absolute and Compare inspection functionality to match the two inspection methods of the Equator-X 500 dual-method gauging system. It enables users to easily create programs for planes, cylinders, and chamfers. MODUS IM Equator is Renishaw’s first step toward intelligent metrology programming, reflecting the goal of expanding accessibility to a wider user base.

MODUS IM Equator software provides an intuitive, efficient CAD-driven platform for creating and running inspection programs. For shop floor process control applications, the software integrates with the Renishaw Central manufacturing connectivity and data platform to enhance process monitoring capabilities. Renishaw Central uses Intelligent Process Control (IPC) software to provide automatic updates of tool offsets and machine tool variables. The platform offers a clear view of manufacturing metrology data and process control.

The Equator software joins the MODUS IM platform as an alternate programming option to the code-based MODUS IM DMIS. The MODUS IM platform is suitable for a broad range of applications including inspection planning and programming, shop floor operation, integration into automation, print-formatted reporting, machine monitoring, and measurement connectivity and analytics.
