Medical-grade PPA

The latest addition to the Amodel brand of polyphthalamide (PPA) is a medical-grade, glass-filled polymer engineered for advanced single-use medical devices. The material features a high melting point above 300°C and maintains mechanical strength at temperatures up to 280°C, making it suitable for demanding manufacturing processes such as surface-mount technology (SMT) assembly, infrared (IR) reflow, and metal overmolding. Amodel PPA is particularly well-suited for electrosurgical instruments and electronic device assemblies where complex, injection-molded geometries offer advantages over alternative materials.
Medical-grade Amodel PPA delivers the heat resistance, robust electrical properties, and key biocompatibility requirements for limited contact duration medical applications.
Gauging system
The Glebar P5K Gauging System offers fast, precise scanning and profiling capabilities for guidewire measurement and metrology processes. With the ability to scan and profile components up to 78” (2m) in length and 0.250” (6.35mm) in diameter, the P5K measures at a speed of 16,000 diameter readings per second, delivering 12x the measurement of any currently available gauging system on the market.
The P5K generates 4x the data output and operates at 4x the speed of its predecessor, the P4K. Its user-friendly, intuitive software ensures traceability with fully automated measurement for objective, reliable results. An improved interface allows inspectors to quickly scan multiple parts with a click of the mouse to assess product quality on the manufacturing floor. Advanced air bearings improve the longevity of the scanning head and eliminate mechanical interference.
The P5K also prioritizes operator comfort and flexibility with ergonomic sitting, standing, or combination sit/stand options.
