Methods Machine Tools Inc. now offers two Fanuc RoboDrill ecoPLUS machines with 21-tool capacities and increased speed via optional 24,000rpm spindles.
The high-speed machining centers offer milling, drilling, tapping, deburring, and chamfering. Ease of use, speed, and versatility allow off-loading of bigger, slower machines and performing secondary options, regardless of production volumes.
Standard features on both systems include a 14.75hp (peak) 10,000rpm or 24,000rpm direct-drive spindle with precision-enhancing thermal compensation, high-response vector (HRV) control, and a 21-station tool changer. The machining centers have up to 1,890ipm (41m/min), up to 1.5G accelerations/decelerations, 0.9-second tool changes (tool-to-tool), rigid tapping to 5,000rpm, and high-speed reverse tapping (up to 20x faster than infeed). Each is equipped with a Fanuc 31i-B Nano CNC with simultaneous 3-axis control.
Options include high-speed indexers, a fourth axis, a signal lamp, and robotic automation packages.
