Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics has completed the acquisition of Twin Bay Medical, a Michigan-based innovator and manufacturer of BarbLock products - flexible tube retainers - as well as single-use components for biopharmaceuticals manufacturing. This acquisition expands Saint-Gobain's capabilities as a full service provider for the biopharmaceutical industry. Twin-Bay Medical's production facility located in Williamsburg, MI, its development organization, and all of the employees currently working for the company are included in the transaction.
"The acquisition of Twin-Bay Medical enables us to continue to bring innovative solutions to the market, especially for single-use biopharmaceutical manufacturing for which Twin Bay Medical has consistently been developing new and unique products to meet the challenges of this new industry. Twin Bay Medical and Saint-Gobain share the same passion for customer service, with a strong emphasis on quality and reliability. Thanks to Saint-Gobain's global reach, combining the companies will allow us to partner with our global customers wherever they operate. We are also very pleased that Twin Bay Medical's founder, Al Werth, will continue to work with us and will keep bringing innovation within the space of single-use biopharmaceutical manufacturing," says Michael Cahill, Vice President of Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics' Fluid Systems division.
