SANDVIK COROMANT WAS RECENTLY HONORED WITH THE 2006 PLATINUM SUPPLIER AWARD by The Industrial Distribution Group's (IDG) Northeast Region. The cutting tool manufacturer is being rewarded for delivering significant cost savings to IDG's customers during the past year.
IDG's primary focus is to reduce costs for its customers by streamlining manufacturing processes, managing storerooms and controlling inventory. By documenting the services performed and cost savings generated, IDG has been able to demonstrate its value to not only customers, but to strategic growth suppliers as well.
It is through this documentation process that the distribution company began monitoring product conformity, orders and logistics for Strategic Growth Supplier partners. At the end of 2006, IDG Northeast selected twenty companies to attend its annual awards presentation dinner, where the top three finishers were honored.
On hand to accept the 2006 Platinum Supplier Award for Sandvik Coromant were the following team members from the Eastern Zone: Kevin McCall, Productivity Team Leader, and Sales Managers Toby Grove, Mark Grimes, James Spengler and Dave Lewandowski.
