Shops save costs with company's large inventory.
Screw machine and turret-lathe operators are boosting productivity using masters, pads, and quick-change systems from Hardinge. The company boasts the largest inventory of spindle tooling for multispindle automatic screw machines, turret lathes, and rotary-transfer machines.
Shops save costs with options including quick-changeover products, alternate pick-off methods, and products for hard-to-grip shapes and materials. Hardinge manufactures all its products in-house using quality raw materials, time-proven process control, and plant-wide quality inspection.
Multispindle-machine operators switching from solid or master collets to Hardinge's HQC quick-change collet system increase productivity because the collet segments change out in less than 20 sec. The segments also remain parallel to workstock with size variations.
True parallel clamping minimizes stock push-back and requires less drawbar force to achieve the same gripping as conventional collets. Thus, high spindle speeds and feedrates are possible, and the extra gripping force increases tool life and gets parts off the machine fast.
