Expanded Range of Profiler Family
The line of Helido Round H400 fine-pitch mills expands, improving profile machining and ramping over a wider range of applications. Included are the 10mm and 16mm inserts, complementing the original 12mm insert, while matching cutters cover the 1.00" and 1.25" diameters for endmills and 1.50" to 4.00" for facemills.

Unlike true rounds, Helido 400 Round inserts have a periphery that consists of bounding arcs with radii that would be found on pure rounds twice their size. Each insert has four 120° arcs, enabling the cutters to have more flutes compared to existing standards, resulting in higher feed capability. The Helido 400 Round insert shape creates four fixed indexing positions per side and firmer no-twist seating that is able to withstand high cutting forces. Fixed indexing positions also ensure that all four edges are used, eliminating the uncertainties that lead to discarding of rounds which still have good edges.

The high-precision TENDO-E hydraulic expansion toolholder provides a combination of performance and value, along with excellent runout accuracy (<0.0050mm/0.0002") and vibration dampening. This results in longer tool life, higher workpiece quality, and minimum stress on the machine spindle. With TENDO-E, the cutting tool can be changed in seconds, without peripheral equipment, and quick tool presetting is possible with the axial length-setting screw. Intermediate sleeves add flexibility, allowing all common tool shanks to be clamped. TENDO-E is available for CAT 40/50, SK 40/50, JIS-BT 40/50, and HSK-A 63.

Linear Actuator Includes Proximity Sensor Integration
An integrated end-of-stroke proximity sensor is now offered for the 25000 Series captive linear actuators. The proximity sensor utilizes miniature Hall effect technology in an IC package mounted directly on the actuator. A highly repeatable on/off signal is accomplished using a rare earth magnet embedded directly on the end of the internal screw. As the screw moves in and out of the actuator, the magnet moves toward and away from the sensor face, causing the device to switch states. The proximity sensor is designed to operate in a digital switch mode using an open-collector output through an integrated NPN transistor switch.
