Optical Vision System
Aesthetic, dimensional, and overall matching specification inspection of polished parts – such as hip and knee joints – is precisely the job for the Orthoflex optical vision system. Orthoflex, a flexible inspection machine, uses a high-resolution smart camera, suitable for the evaluation of small defects present on the overall polished surface. The system is capable of inspection of different sized hip, shoulder, as well as knee joint polished surfaces for an overall aesthetic part evaluation. A diffusive light source, properly designed to suit the specific part type, illuminates the surface requiring measurement. Then, during either rotation and/or translation of the part during the inspection cycle, the high-resolution camera captures millions of images.
Orthoflex is available in a stand-alone configuration, with manual or automatic loading/unloading, or for integration in the production line for samples inspection.
Orthoflex software accommodates each individual users requirements and specifications, regarding the type of defects the system is checking for, making the overall Orthoflex system flexible and open.
Samples of defects, that the Orthoflex detects and lists, could be:
- Scratches;
- Stains;
- Opacities; and/or
- Small notchings.
A Microsoft Windows-based software, installed in the Orthoflex Industrial PC, provides a simple and intuitive user interface.

ServoClass Couplings Provide High Torsional Stiffness
ServoClass Couplings address the precision positioning requirements and high reverse load characteristics of today’s challenging AC and DC servomotor applications. Providing high torsional stiffness for precision positioning, they have zero-backlash, and low hysteresis, ensuring repeatable precise positioning. They are ideal for applications requiring high speed reversing loads and accurate positioning repeatability – virtually any system using ballscrews and servomotors. The addition of three new sizes to the Zero-Max ServoClass coupling line handle bore diameters from 0.875" (20mm) to 1.378" (35mm) and operating torque from 3,937 lb to 9,843 lb (100Nm to 250Nm). Many additional sizes are available starting with the smallest bore size 0.157" (4mm) and larger. All ServoClass couplings are available in single and double flex models in inch and metric sizes. All models and sizes feature clamp-style hubs with corrosion resistant socket head cap screws.

High-Power Ultrasonic Technology
The ultrasonic technology portfolio from Aurizon Ultrsonics expands beyond rotary and nozzle capabilities to include devices and systems that enable continuous processing (e.g., mixing, emulsification, and dispersion) possibilities as alternatives to traditional batch processing. This multi-functional technology, effectively demonstrated in various processes, includes mixing difficult ingredients, emulsifying multi-component formulations, effectively dispersing pigment agglomerates, and degassing liquids.
Ultrasonic liquid processing technology has a wide range of potential applications across a number of markets, including:
- Spray Drying – Pre-blending feed streams;
- Combustion – Emulsions of fuel with water or other additives ;
- Pharmaceuticals – Finer particle size droplets;
- Inks/Dyes – Continuous formulating; and
- Specialty Chemical manufacturing.
Potential Benefits Include:
- Higher productivity;
- Improved quality/product consistency;
- Continuous processing;
- On-Demand manufacturing;
- Lower process costs;
- Waste reduction (less cleanup); and
- Removal of dissolved gases in liquids.
