Cincom L20E, with the E standing for the Evolution, is a sliding headstock Swiss-type lathe that boasts greater feature/cost benefits together with greater tooling flexibility. The Cincom L20E features the all-axis simultaneous Cincom System M7 control (Mitsubishi Meldas 70LPC). The standard seven cutting axis (X1, Y1, X2, Z2, C1, and C3) and one bar loader axis (A7) can make easy work out of tough applications.
An enlarged width of the slide cover opening enables easy access to inside the cutting area, while also improving tooling and maintenance accessibility. The part chute is set in such a position so the operator can collect machining products immediately after completion of back machining.
The L20E offers a wide variety of redesigned L20 tooling, as well as an array of NC functions. Citizen’s control system enables smooth motion at high speeds and the increased rapid feedrate of 32mpm successfully improves productivity.
For front machining, the L20E is equipped with an independently controlled gang toolholder and opposed tool holder. Cincom Control positions the next toolholder while previous toolholder retracts. The front ID toolholder has expanded capabilities, including two deep hole locations (up to 100mm).
The mounting of up to 32 tools is possible for easy machining of complex shapes with the convenience of a gang tool machine.
The direct spindle indexing function signifi cantly reduces spindle indexing time. The spindle decelerates directly into the required index position, eliminating the time taken to stop, reference and index.
The user-friendly editing function, which utilizes multi-line, multi-axis programming along with superimposed and synchronized control, makes setting up the most complex jobs simple.
The L20E delivers substantial improvements in productivity, offering additional advantages of faster setup and lower maintenance costs.
