GrindSmart 629XS, equipped with ultra-modern technology, produces standard and specialty tools. The sixth axis and additional features deliver flexibility and consistent tool quality. The GrindSmart 629XS is designed for producing high-performance tools as well as inserts, threading tools, and medical/dental tools.
The tool-grinding center is designed for tools ranging between 0.1mm and 16mm in diameter. The sixth axis allows the operator to incline grinding wheels during operation for increased flexibility and freedom of movement, especially when producing complex tool geometries. In addition, the sixth axis ensures that the contact point on the grinding wheel remains constant at all times.
Kinematics of the machine ensure movement minimization of the axis between the operations. Scales on linear axes and the rotation axis are standard. The direct-drive motor on the rotary B-axis enables high-performance servo tuning, providing consistent surface finish quality and form tolerance, particularly on tools with corner radii and a ball shape. SmartGuide – a shank guide system developed by Rollomatic engineers – ensures concentricity within 0.002mm.
Standard programming software offers total freedom of design while its interface enables programming of standard or specific tools in only a few clicks, when using the programming wizard. GrindSmart 629XS software upgrades are free during the machine life.
