Small-Footprint Y-Axis Turning Center
The ability to turn and mill complex parts and perform multiple operations on one machine increases throughput, reduces handling, and improves accuracy. The Haas ST-10Y is a small-footprint Y-axis turning center that provides 4" of Y-axis travel (±2" from the centerline) for off-center milling, drilling, and tapping, and comes standard with high-torque live tooling and a servo-driven C-axis for versatile 4-axis capability.
The ST-10Y provides a maximum cutting capacity of 9" x 14", with a swing of 16.25" over the cross slide. It is equipped with a 6.5" hydraulic 3-jaw chuck and a 12-station VDI turret. The ST-10Y’s A2-5 spindle nose has a 2.31" spindle bore and a bar capacity of 1.75". The machine’s 15hp vector dual-drive spindle turns to 6,000rpm, and provides 75ft/lb of torque. On-the-fly wye-delta switching yields a wide constant-horsepower band for constant surface feed cuts, and rapids are 945ipm on the X-axis, 1,200ipm on the Z-axis, and 500ipm on the Y-axis, helping reduce cycle times.
Standard equipment on the ST-10Y includes high-torque live tooling with C axis, rigid tapping, spindle orientation, a 15" color LCD monitor, and an USB port. Available high-productivity options include a belt-type chip conveyor, a manual tailstock with hydraulic quill, an automatic tool probe, an automatic parts catcher, high-pressure coolant systems, and much more.

Fixtures for Medical Device Manufacturers
The RWP-019SS dovetail workholding fixture, manufactured from 17-4 stainless steel treated to H-1150, strongly holds onto a small 3/8" dovetail on easily prepared workpieces. The clamping strength allows manufacturers to hold workpieces up to 2 lb, providing access to five sides of the workpiece on 5-axis machines.
Engineers from Raptor Workholding Products explain that their manufacturing customers in the medical device industry have been asking for smaller fixtures that are strong enough to hold their workpieces. The RWP-019SS is the first product designed specifically for the needs of medical device manufacturers. The compact design allows medical device manufacturing customers to machine smaller products and still have access to five full faces of ther workpiece.
Made to hold parts on 4- and 5-axis CNC machines, Raptor Dovetail Fixtures provide rigid clamping while exposing five faces of the workpiece – most features can be completed in a single operation. The Raptor Dovetail spring-loaded clamps require only 1/8" of material to hold the workpiece. That means less waste, easier preparation, and no distortion. Users prepare all their parts with a single dovetail and utilize the same fixture for every part.
The Fixture comes with two mounting bolts and two dowel pins for location.

High Pressure Coolant System/Chiller Unit
Development of the all-in-one integrated chiller and high-pressure coolant system, named the S2, was specifically for the metalcutting industry, accommodating the growing need for high pressure, stabilized coolant to help maintain the tight tolerances of many parts. Engineers at MP Systems dedicated a substantial amount of time to developing the S2, and believe they have solved all of the problems associated with other coolant chiller products currently available, including a space-saving design, optimal flow, real-time monitoring, and tidy hose routing. The S2 can integrate with most types of CNC machine tools, including machining centers, turning centers, and Swiss-style lathes, while using either water or oil-based coolants.
Real-time monitoring by the S2’s PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) directs the S2 to respond to changing conditions, such as air and tank temperatures, and the outgoing coolant temperatures from the machine tool. The compact system stabilizes coolant to ±1° of ambient temperature. The controller also provides average temperature readings, eliminating random spikes or drops in temperatures.
To help keep the shopfloor neat and orderly, the S2 has a remote valve block. The manifold block mounts neatly on the machine with just one high-pressure hose leading to the S2. This single-hose, remote manifold option addresses the clutter and safety risk of having multiple lines laying on the floor for multi-port and Swiss-type applications.
A built-in feed pump supplies the chiller and high-pressure pump with optimum flow. It also accommodates aerated fluid exceptionally well. When used with water-based coolant, the S2 pumps up to 1,000psi at 8 gallons per minute. With oils, it reaches up to 2,000psi at 5 gallons per minute.
