Combo Pressure/Temperature Sensors
Pressure/temperature sensors and pressure/temperature transmitters provide both pressure and temperature outputs from a single process point. This dual output configuration reduces process penetration points and leaks that are important considerations in critical systems such as hydrogen, oxygen, hydraulics, analyzers, ammonia systems, and more.

In addition to saving money by performing the task of two units, the Model AST20PT stainless steel media isolated pressure/temperature sensor and Model AST46PT explosion-proof pressure/temperature transmitter also are ideal for low-power systems as both a pressure and temperature reading are generated with the power consumption of one sensor.

Incorporating a microprocessor-controlled design, along with AST’s proven one-piece body construction, both the Model AST20PT sensor and Model AST46PT transmitter offer high accuracy pressure and temperature measurements of ±0.1% and 1.0% BFSL, respectively.

Both units are available in various temperature ranges from -40°F to 250°F (-40°C to 125°C). While the Model AST46PT is offered in pressure ranges up to up to 20,000psi (1,400 Bar), the Model AST20PT is available in pressure ranges up to 45,000psi (3,100 bar).

Both units are available in a wide range of wetted materials, including high-quality stainless steels and superalloys: 17-4PH SS, 316L SS, Inconel 718, Waspalloy, and Hastelloy C-276.

Ideal for Precision Optics and Pipetting Applications
The micro-slide linear actuator is capable of a resolution of 1µ/step (0.0006"/step) and a maximum load of 13N (3lb/ft). This device is ideal for applications requiring precision motion in a small footprint, with optimization for applications such as microfluidics and optical positioning. The micro-slide is approximately 22mm (0.87") wide by 25.2mm (1.0") high and is capable of up to a 64mm (2.5") maximum stroke length.

A lightweight anodized aluminum base plate houses the lead screw bushing and attaches, rigidly, to the aluminum motor mounting plate. At the heart of the slide is the Haydon 15000 Series 15mm (0.59") can-stack motor, which has been proven in thousands of linear motion applications. The LS15 stepper motor requires no complicated controls and a simple pulse and direction signal commands its operation.

Made from self-lubricating polyacetal, the slide load carriage features a built-in clearance take-up mechanism for load rigidity during motion. Support is by stainless steel guide rods coated with Black Ice TFE coating. The Kerk leadscrew is 303 stainless steel and is available in five different leads including 0.3mm (0.012"), 0.4mm (0.016"), 0.5mm (0.020"), 1.0mm (0.039"), and 2.0mm (0.079"). When combined with the LS15 stepper motor, achievement of very fine positioning resolution is possible with the micro-screw.

The micro-slide configures, easily, for application-specific requirements including custom mounting, different stroke lengths up to 64mm (2.5"), magnetic or optical position sensors, and custom wire harnesses.

Precision Dispensing of Air Sensitive, Crystal-Forming Fluids
Low volume valveless metering pumps from the miniature H Series Pump Heads are now available with an isolation gland to provide a fluid barrier between the pumped process fluid and atmosphere. These pumps are ideal for maintenance-free dispensing of saline based reagents, buffers and wash fluids, slurries, abrasive fluids, fluids with particulates, inks, pigments, anaerobic fluids, dialysate used for hemodialysis, and much more.

Isolation gland pumps have a pair of extra ports that connect to a fluid source (either liquid or gas). The fluid flowing through the gland ports provides a barrier, which isolates the pumped process fluid from the seal area and atmosphere. The isolation gland connects, easily, to the barrier liquid or gas source via barbed fittings.

The H Series Pump Heads configures, easily, with all of FMI’s drive options including AC, DC, hazardous duty, pneumatic, and stepper, as well as programmable dispensing systems.

Metal Bellows Line
The addition of six new miniature edge-welded metal bellows sizes are now a part of BellowsTech’s existing product line. The smallest size added to the product line has an outside diameter of 0.358", the smallest offering to date. The addition of these six news sizes gives users more options to design the ideal solution at the right price. Made in a round configuration, each design is available in any material, including stainless steel, high temperature alloys, and titanium. These miniature bellows can be used in various applications, including oil and gas down hole tools, medical instruments, and automation equipment.

The six new miniature metal bellows sizes are as follows:

Size Number  Outside Diameter  Inside Diameter
0036A  0.358"  0.200"
0048A  0.477"  0.198"
0118A  1.181"  0.886"
0195A  1.950"  1.557"
0219A  2.190" 1.690"
0260B  2.595"  2.185"

Expanded, Integrated Servo Linear Actuator Family
The IMA55 high-force servo linear actuator is now available with an optional roller screw that boosts its thrust capability to 6,875lb/force (30,470N). In addition, a new compact IMA22 integrated-motor actuator features a ball screw and can deliver up to 325lb/force (1,446N). Available in four sizes, the IMA line of integrated-motor rod actuators features stroke lengths from 3" to 18" (76.2mm to 457.2mm), at speeds up to 24ips (610mm/sec). The addition of these two actuators significantly expands the range of applications for these actuators to include pressing, clamping, valve control, spot welding, and volumetric filling.

With the addition of the roller-screw option on the IMA55, the service life of the actuator increases by nearly 10 times in high-force applications. The standard ball screw on the IMA22 offers efficiency and economy in lower-force applications that require accuracy, repeatability, and durability in a compact package.

All of the IMA actuators integrate a servomotor and a ball or roller screw for long service life designed to fit a multitude of budgets. With its integrated servomotor, the IMA actuator is shorter for a given stroke length than other types of rod actuators. Its patent-pending design allows for easy re-lubrication of the screw without disassembly, reducing maintenance and increasing service life compared to other rod actuators without this feature.

Both the IMA22 and IMA55 actuators feature a hollow-core rotor design that allows the nut of the screw to pass inside the rotor, creating a very compact package. This decreases overall actuator length compared to standard actuators due to the elimination of a separate motor, motor mount, and gearbox.

Rotary Encoder for Robotics/Automation
In robotics and automation technology, rotary encoders and resolvers serve on servo drives as feedback systems for position and speed control. An increasing number of applications require multi-turn versions of absolute encoders that are low in cost and as sturdy as resolvers, but with features beyond what resolvers can provide.

Within the EBI 1135, the fast EnDat 2.2 pure serial interface is used for transmission of a high-resolution absolute position value to improve transmission reliability, in particular in environments with high electromagnetic noise potential.

With an overall length of less than 13mm and a housing outside diameter of only 37mm, the EBI 1135 is one of the world’s smallest rotary encoders and is therefore predestined for use on highly dynamic servomotors with small dimensions for automation technology and industrial robots. The encoder attains a total resolution of 34 bits (single-turn: 18 bits, multi-turn: 16 bits). Its modular design without ball bearing and a battery-buffered revolution counter permit very compact dimensions

The EBI 1135 rotary encoder distinguishes itself in particular with optimized inductive scanning together with a sturdy design. This becomes possible in particular because it functions without optical components (glass scale, LED), which can be handicapped by contamination, vibration, shock, and high temperature. The higher permissible axial scanning gap tolerance of ±0.3mm, the expanded voltage range of 3.6V to 14V and, compared with multi-turn scanning with a mechanical transmission, the greatly expanded multi-turn value range of 65,536 distinguishable revolutions increase the reserves in the application available to the customer.
