During IMTS 2014, Haimer will feature the North American premiere of its Power Mill end mills. Made from high-end fine grain carbide, they come equipped with a Safe-Lock shank, a Haimer-developed pull out protection system that has become a standard for HSC and HPC machining. The end mill geometries are based on an unequal flute and helix design for chatter free high-end machining. All tools are coated with latest PVD technology and have an extremely smooth surface for the best possible chip evacuation.
The new Power Mill Portfolio, with cutting diameters available from 2mm to 20mm, are available with 3, 4, and 5 cutting edges with multiple lengths of cut. To offer maximum flexibility, different cutting edge solutions (sharp, chamfer, and radius) are also available. In addition, a roughing geometry with a cord profile is part of the portfolio.
All end mills are fine balanced and have a run-out of 5µm. All shanks are based on the h5 tolerance.
Along with the Power Mill portfolio, Haimer has expanded the Safe-Lock offering. Resulting from the widespread and multiple customer requests for different application areas, Safe-Lock is available starting from shank diameter 6mm.
Also on display will be the modular milling interface Duo-Lock with self-fitting thread technology for the high load capacities, high rigidity, and the consistent best runout. This technology, combined with Haimer’s Shrink Fit chucks, Power Collet Chucks, and Cool Flash systems, helps users increase metal removal rates and push applications to their limits.
