Scott Hanson, Tactical Design Lab Manager, Medtronic
Scott Hanson, has more than 25 years of experience in the design, development and manufacture of medical devices. His career began at SciMed/Boston Scientific where he worked as a Process Development and Research and Development Engineer, in various cardiology stent delivery system projects.  24 patents later, Scott is now the Tactical Design Lab Manager at Medtronic, in Fridley, Minnesota. Medtronic, of course, is the world’s largest standalone medical technology development company. Scott oversees Medtronic’s world class design lab, ensuring the lab’s results help drive innovation and collaboration across the RTG Implantables Research and Technology and Development organizations within the medical devices company.

In addition to keeping the patent office busy and running a world class lab, Scott also has more than 20 years of experience managing engineering technicians.  He specializes in the development of nitinol processes, catheter-based interventional devices and electromechanical leads and extension designs as well as leading cutting-edge research and development teams in the development of new medical device technologies. 

Michel Gaisford, Director, Marketing – Medical Solutions, Stratasys
Michael Gaisford is the Director of Marketing for Stratasys Medical Solutions. In this role, he oversees global marketing programs, collaborations with physicians and hospitals and medical application development. Michael brings over a decade of medical device and pharmaceutical industry experience, including roles in marketing and strategy with Boston Scientific, as a consultant with Health Advances, a boutique healthcare consulting firm, marketing at Genentech and as a Strategy Associate at CVS/Pharmacy. He holds an M.B.A. from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University.
