About the presentation
CNC machine simulation has become a common part of the manufacturing process to ensure quality and safety of NC programs running on a machine. But what if the job setup information verified in the simulation does not match the setups on the machine out on the floor? For instance, the work offsets, axis positions, the CNC program or tooling were changed after the program was simulated without the programmer knowing? What if you could investigate those differences in a virtual environment with a real-time connection to the CNC machine and resolve them before running the machine?
Machine monitoring software is evolving rapidly, and it is becoming increasingly easier to retrieve real-time data from the shop floor. In addition to investigating differences between the simulation environment and the machine prior to machining, it is now possible to live-stream and monitor what your machines are doing within 3D representations of the part and the machine. This includes being able to see active tool and work offsets, which sub-routine is running, if spindle or feed rate overrides are applied, and more. Furthermore, the software can provide valuable insight about how NC programs ran on the machine by replaying what happened in a 3D environment using historical data which can also be used to identify and investigate modifications made to NC programs, overrides used on the machine, and where these occurred during the machining process.
