Latest Information About SYGNUS Implantable Contact System

Available for free is an updated guide that describes Bal Seal’s implantable seal/contact system.

An updated quick–reference guide published by Bal Seal Engineering Inc. provides the latest information about the company’s SYGNUS Implantable Contact System.

Using detailed images to illustrate applications such as cardiac defibrillation and spinal cord stimulation, the six-page “TMB-10” describes how the SYGNUS system can be used to maintain reliable connections in pacemakers, defibrillators, neuro¬stimulators and other electronic devices used to deliver life-improving therapies to the human body. Revised technical drawings in the guide clearly depict the system’s seal and housing configurations, and a URL directs readers to a microsite at www.sygnus.com.

SYGNUS is the world’s first integrated seal and electrical contact system for active implantable devices. Engineered to help large and small device OEMs, the system incorporates Bal Seal Canted Coil Spring technology. According to the company, the spring’s multi-point conductivity reduces risk of failure due to connection loss. The SYGNUS system’s integrated design, coupled with its ability to stack a greater number of contacts in a smaller space, allows engineers to design more functionality into a compact header cavity.

The updated TMB-10 can be downloaded free of charge from the company’s online technical library at http://www.balseal.com/sites/default/files/SYGNUS-TMB10_091712.pdf. Requests for free printed copies can be e-mailed to sales@balseal.com.
