San Diego, CA-based BeamOne LLC is opening an electron beam medical device sterilization service center in Butler County, north of Pittsburgh.
The company will break ground on the facility in the Victory Road Business Park in Clinton Township by the end of the year, and expects it to be operational by late 2010, according to a news release.
The Butler County facility will provide sterilization services for the medical device and pharmaceutical industries, among others. The new center is expected to create 20 new jobs, BeamOne said in a statement.
The Pittsburgh region is home to medical device companies, such as MEDRAD Inc., whose CEO, John Friel, praised the BeamOne annoucement in a prepared statement.
In addition to its operations in California, BeamOne has locations in Colorado, Ohio and Costa Rica.
