The official opening ceremony of HANNOVER MESSE 2026 will see Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, inaugurate the event together with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. As next year's Partner Country, Brazil presents an extremely compelling profile: it is Latin America's biggest economy, endowed with vast natural resources and a robust, diversified industrial landscape. This positions the country as a global economic heavyweight and a highly attractive partner for international trade and technological collaboration.
At the upcoming HANNOVER MESSE, Brazil will present itself under the theme The Industry of Today. The country has long sought deeper integration into global supply chains. Now, the worldwide realignment of trade flows is creating a prime opportunity to use HANNOVER MESSE as a platform for advancing ratification of the EU-Mercosur agreement.
"Brazil is the ideal Partner Country for HANNOVER MESSE 2026, thanks not only to its strength in key technologies such as digitalization and renewable energy, but also to its rising geopolitical significance. In a dynamically shifting global economy, close cooperation with Brazil is of immense strategic importance. This combination makes the nation an indispensable partner for Germany and Europe," says Dr. Jochen Köckler, CEO of Deutsche Messe.
