Amberg, Germany – Since November 2010, Phoenix Contact has published more than 8,000 products in its Combicon connectors product line to the online platform TracePartsOnline.net.
Phoenix Contact was looking to achieve several goals by working with TraceParts. This included an increase in product visibility, maximizing the level of service for customers and the standardization of CAD models.
Jens-Uwe Henkel, project manager at Phoenix Contact, defined a large target group composed of developers, designers and engineers with customers, potential new customers, distribution partners and Phoenix Contacts own Global Sales Network.
Three and a half years after the implementation of the project with TraceParts, Phoenix Contact is confident to have taken the right step.
The CAD catalog offers a variety of benefits to Phoenix Contact. For the customers, the possibility of online 3D viewings and the online CAD download in all common CAD formats constitutes real added value. This added value nourishes the customer satisfaction and therefore strengthens customer loyalty. The availability of the components within the TraceParts Publishing Network, with a range of more than 8.5 million users, also increases the visibility of the components worldwide. This opens up new markets without any direct action on the part of Phoenix Contact and through its ever increasing network of new TraceParts partner portals, further new markets are opened up all the time.
The ability to carry out exact analysis of data using the TraceParts online reporting tool also opens up the possibility to use user behavior as an early indicator for strategic decisions. The reporting tool provides information such as which components were opened, when, where, by whom and at what frequency.
