Buehler
Buehler is offering a back-to-basics in metallography webinar – Five Fundamentals for Efficient Materials Sample Preparation – on June 30, 2020. The key concepts are applicable to industrial and research laboratory environments with low or high sample throughputs.
Topics will include key considerations to improve lab efficiency that also results in increased throughput in a production environment. This is important for precision critical industries such as aerospace, automotive, medical device, electronics and other industries that need to ensure the quality of raw metallic materials, components, fasteners and other metal parts.
Metallographic preparation involves multiple stages that present challenges relating to which equipment and consumables, and what are the optimal settings for a fast and reproducible preparation. Due to the many options, it can be challenging to identify an approach that is both efficient and effective.
Buehler’s experts will focus on the five key parts to achieving highly efficient sample preparation. For each part, core considerations will be discussed, examples will be given, and resources to help improve materials selection and processes will be provided.
Instructions on material selection and preparation processes will help the participants:
- Recognize common problems in preparation approach
- Identify improvement opportunities in their current approach
- Know how to find the right information for their material and application
- Be able to optimize the preparation process for time, cost and quality
Registration for the webinar is complimentary. The webinar will is available in three time zones and three languages: English, French, and German.
