MicroTransponder Inc., a privately held medical device company developing a suite of wireless neurostimulators, has just announced that they have entered into a development agreement with asicNorth to design an application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) circuits for the SAINT device. “We are pleased to have asicNorth as a design partner given their deep circuit design expertise and the large number of engineers with relevant ASIC experience,” states CTO Scott Armstrong. This development agreement will be the cornerstone of MicroTransponder’s circuit design and provide the ability to add many new features to the device.
“Working with MicroTransponder gives us the chance to partner with a rising star in the medical device landscape. The chronic pain market is one of the largest in healthcare and MicroTransponder is at the forefront of new innovation in wireless technology,” states Michael Slattery, president of asicNorth. “We are pleased to bring our deep mixed-signal design and ultra low power expertise to bear upon medical technology that will transform the future of pain management. Our experience with a variety of technology and manufacturers allows us to pick the right technology for the MicroTransponder application.”
