Kelcourt Plastics, a medical device maker based in San Clemente, CA, and operating a plant in Otay Mesa, CA, is gearing up to add another six employees during the next two months, says production manager Arsenio Baltazar.
Now at 56 employees, the plant that opened here in January 2008 with four staffers makes plastic intravenous tubes used by hospitals and medical clinics. The added jobs are assembly line packers, Baltazar says.
"Even though there a recession on, hospitals don’t skimp on care and that is why things are growing," Baltazar explains.
In addition to the two California locations, Kelcourt operates plants in Nogales, AZ and Singapore. Total employment is about 250.
