Bosch Rexroth, the Drive and Control Company, will exhibit a broad range of automation products and applications for energy efficiency, safety and control competence in machine tool and CNC operation, September 13-18 in Chicago at IMTS, booth E-4942.
The company will feature machine tool automation and CNC products from its electric drives and controls, pneumatics, hydraulics, linear motion and assembly technology areas, demonstrating how Rexroth components and systems work together to provide a complete integrated automation solution.
The booth will include several operational multi-technology and application-based exhibits demonstrating the scope of Rexroth’s machine tool and CNC automation offering. Product highlights in the booth will include:
CD01/02-PI Pneumatic Valve Terminal System
Rexroth’s CD01/02-PI pneumatic valve terminal system offers the greatest flexibility at a high level of standardization. Thanks to its modular and sturdy design, the valve terminal system offers the right solution for all application and control environments.
The CD01/02-PI has a modular design and can hold up to 16 valves. CD01 valves are characterized by a width of 26 mm and a flow rate of 1350 liters per minute; CD02 valves have a width of 18 mm and a flow rate of 650 liters per minute. Valves with different flow rates can be combined in a valve terminal system. Plug-in valves make it possible to exchange the valves in the valve terminal system quickly and easily.
Rexroth’s valve program features numerous actuation options. The valve terminal system can be actuated via a multiple plug and works with all common field bus protocols such as PROFIBUS DP, CANopen, DeviceNet, Sercos III and EtherCAT.
IndraMotion MTX Micro Compact CNC
The IndraMotion MTX micro CNC incorporates a PLC (IEC 61131-3) and all controller and drive hardware with a wide range of software functions for turning and milling machines in a very compact unit.
The IndraMotion MTX micro provides accuracies down to the nanometer and is ideal for automating up to four feed drives for turning or milling machines as a CNC controller with a powerful integrated PLC.
A high-performance 32-bit processor provides for short CNC and PLC cycle times and enables production accuracies down to the nanometer while ensuring high productivity. The I/O interface with modular expansion capability integrates 24V DC auxiliary sensors and actuators into the automation setup despite the lack of additional coupling relays.
Two base Rexroth IndraMotion MTX micro models with three and four axes are available and both can be expanded in function and power using Rexroth IndraDrive units connected via SERCOS III Ethernet. This flexibility provides new possibilities for standard machine tools.
The compact controller is based on the same open CNC and PLC standards as the other machine tool controllers in the Rexroth IndraMotion MTX family.
Rexroth TS 5 Assembly Conveyor
The Rexroth TS 5 transfer system introduces a new class of conveyor to the market. The system features an incredibly robust design, suitable for harsh production environments and heavy transport of loads up to 300 kg (660 lb.).
Rexroth’s TS 5 conveyors boast a highly energy efficient drive system and quiet, maintenance-free operation with a “king shaft” powered roller design that requires no lubrication, resulting in greater system uptime.
The TS 5 system can be configured to transport goods either on a workpiece pallet or directly on a continuous roller conveyor, and is available in three widths. Curves are separate, self-contained units that allow the system to branch off to the right or to the left to achieve a wide variety of conveyor system layouts.
All components are modular, preassembled and can be combined as needed using a single interface, allowing for easy system expansion or reconfiguration in the future.
Variable-speed Hydraulic Pump Drives
With variable-speed pump drives, Rexroth opens up new possibilities of cutting lifecycle costs. Conventional variable displacement pumps with asynchronous motors control the displacement and pressure via internal control mechanisms. However, with the variable-speed pump drive Rexroth relocates the closed-loop control into the converter.
During times when little or no hydraulic flow is required, the frequency converter reduces the speed of the electric drive and the fixed displacement motor. This reduces energy consumption, hydraulic power losses, and noise emission. As soon as the hydraulic system requires more power, the converter adjusts the speed accordingly.
Other key Rexroth product highlights at the show will include:
- Electrohydraulic controls
- Pneumatic part present sensing
- Linear motion modules and components
- Electric motors, drives, HMIs and controls
By showcasing application areas for machine tool automation Bosch Rexroth is demonstrating how companies can improve speed, precision, uptime and safety for CNC and machine tool operation.
