Chicago – Make plans to attend the IMTS 2014 Conferences to learn about Tool Failure Analysis and Decision Making.
DATE: Tuesday, September 9 from 2:15 PM - 3:10 PM ROOM: W-192A
SPEAKER: Don Graham, Manager, Education and Technical Services, Seco Tools
Inconsistent tool life and poor productivity are often the result of a lack of understanding of operating tool failure modes. This presentation will review the failure mechanisms typically associated with machining of steel, stainless steel, various irons, and high temp alloys. The causes and corrective actions for each of the mechanisms will be discussed. Also included will be a review of the most appropriate tools to use for this analysis. Proper application of the techniques presented will increase productivity, improve tool life, tool life consistency, and dramatically reduce tooling costs.
The educational and informative conferences run Sept. 8-11, 2014 in the West Building, Level 1. To register for this or any session, visit www.imts.com/education/imtsconference.html.
