Plant Operations: Acquaint, Convince, and Excite: ACE the Next Generation of Manufacturing

Plan to attend the IMTS 2016 Conferences to get an eye-opening look at closing the skill gap in manufacturing.

Chicago, Illinois - We face an increasing “skill gap” in manufacturing. This is the empty space left between an aging, skilled workforce and the young students who are not training to fill those roles. What does this mean for modern manufacturers and the economy as a whole? What can we do about it? Join Meghan West, president of CNC Software, as she presents her outlook on overcoming the perception problems common in manufacturing and looks at ways we can get students educated about — and excited for — a career in manufacturing.

The presentation covers the economics and opportunities in the manufacturing industry, a look at the how manufacturing is taught, and tips on ways CNC Software has been successful in getting young people to look at a career in manufacturing.

About the speaker
Meghan Summers West earned her BS in Business from Bentley College and an MBA in Management from Hawaii Pacific University. Meghan gained valuable job experience outside of manufacturing before officially joining CNC Software in 2009 as operations manager. She was named president in April 2015.
