Kitamura Machinery Completes Expansion of Headquarters

Kitamura Machinery, the premier manufacturer of horizontal, vertical and 5-axis machining centers, announced today that it has completed construction on its Headquarter expansion in Takaoka-City, Japan.  Now fully operational, the 208,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility houses the company’s manufacturing and assembly operations for their line of larger size high performance machining centers sold worldwide.

Unique features of the expansion include a foundation able to accommodate 8.3 tons per sq/ft.  Over 400 tons of poured concrete make for a sturdy, rigid floor allowing for True Geometry Accuracy in the production of machining centers.  In addition, 28 overhead cranes with 30 ton capacity have been installed to meet the demand of larger, heavier machining requirements seen across a broad range of industries.

“The new capacity provides us the additional resources necessary to support the growth of our 630mm to 1250mm horizontal, along with our and Bridge-type machining center segment”, said Dr. Akihiro Kitamura, President of Kitamura Machinery Co., LTD..  “In addition to increased production facilities, the expanded facility is registered ISO, 14001, temperature and humidity controlled per NASA standards, and includes a variety of green elements which include: sustainable design, materials, energy efficiency and monitored indoor air quality that increases our efficiency ten-fold previous to the expansion.  We continue to re-invest in the growth of the company so that we can continue to serve our growing customer base”.
