What do you get when you take imagination and creatitivity, focus it on a specialized topic or group of ideas, give it a platform for bringing all these ideas together, then multiply it by a factor of limitless possibilities? It looks something like a unique and growing process called collaborative manufacturing.
Rather than limiting ideas to one small group of company engineers, automaker Local Motors decided to throw open the doors to a whole design and engineering community — and that's how its cars are born. It's helped Local Motors build a base of passionate followers, and, as their slogan says, it's how they "build COOL cars"!
