Marposs Corp. introduces its new Mida VOS optical touch probe system for use on large 3- and 5-axis machining centers.
The multi-channel system consists of a receiver with integrated interface and a transmitter unit that is compatible with the full range of Mida touch-trigger probes, and is available in a compact version or a modular version allowing wide range application flexibility.
The Mida VOS system features multi-channel operation, permitting up to four transmitter/probe units to be used in an application with only one receiver. For machines with multiple spindles, it is possible to implement two applications on the same machine by allowing two probes to be used simultaneously.
The VOS touch probe system features high immunity to interference, a large operating range, and a wide transmission angle due to its innovative modulated optical transmission system. Carbon extensions up to 1m length can be used with the VOP60 modular transmitter/probe unit for reaching into deep bores.
The Mida VOS system is extremely robust and capable of withstanding the most challenging machining environments. The system is controlled entirely by the machine tool via a simple PLC command. The receiver is easily programmed using a remote control unit.
